Walking in to Keen's (Est. 1885) you realize quickly that this IS your father's steakhouse. Dark woods, walls lined with manly artefacts like the giant renaissance tiger painting and the tobacco pipe lined ceilings. Old - School. For better or worse I don't think there was one female diner in the whole establishment. Lots of smaller dining rooms, one of which looked like it was a G-8 summit.

Started with the Oysters and Mutton Chop for the table. Mutton Chop is a signature of theirs and general consensus was it was prepared well and had excellent flavour. But when you go to Keens, you go for the steak and the Thick Cut Porterhouse for 2's, definitely lived up to the hype. Table was a bit tight for 9 and the apps were basic and not memorable at all. Service was direct, yet not as attentive as some might expect, as the waitress basically catered to the evening’s host and lost sight of serving the entire table. The night was polished off by a sampling of every desert they had on the menu and another fantastic, well valued bottle of wine.
