For the March addition of the Steakboyz the crew headed down Tribeca, restaurant paradise, to explore the beef expertise at American Cut by Marc Forgione.
As the son of American culinary legend Larry Forgione, Marc established his unique culinary style for new-age American cuisine while working with several international powerhouses, including Laurent Tourondel of BLT and Michael Guérard of Eugenie les Bains. His innovative use of quality ingredients paired with modern twists on American classics helped to carve his own identity in the culinary world, leading to a two-star review from The New York Times. Forgione’s signature creations such as the Chili Lobster, Pastrami Spiced Ribeye and the 42 oz. Tomahawk Chop were all on display for the hungry appetites of nearly 16 strong on this fabulous Steakboyz Thursday night in lower Manhattan. To boot joining the festivities a Steakboyz brother from the London chapter, visiting from across the pond (on his birthday to boot). Well done Mani and glad you could join the fun! The room and service were clear winners. Overall the ratings were strong and places American Cut amongst the top of the leaderboard for 2017. Ambiance, Service, and Sides were all above the 4 mark. The giant round table occupied the plethora of appetizers… DJB Oysters, Chili Lobster, Raw Oysters, Little Neck Clams, Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Cocktail, Poached Lobster, and Tuna Tartare....yum. The one criticism common on the reviews was the Porterhouse. Given this is the selected cut for which the reviews are made American Cut did not bring home the ‘bacon’ as we say for rating on the Steak. However, the bacon, schaller & webber starter with MF steak sauce and black onion starter, along with the company, places the March edition of Steakboyz with a strong overall rating.
