Goodman

London Steak Boyz Volume 4 took place in October at one of the hottest steak spots in London. Goodman’s in the City of London, just off the bustling Oxford Street. The Goodman franchise of which there are 3 in total has been around for a number of years and is synonymous with high quality steak with plenty of variety. The host clearly choosing a safe pair of hands in Goodman.

The boyz arrived at a local pub for what is quickly becoming a customary pre-dinner drink. As the last person arrived, we polished off a final round and headed over to Goodman. Our waiter welcomed us to the venue and took us directly to the only booth in the house. A table of eight which was nestled in our own private space, looking out to the packed and bustling restaurant. Goodman was off to a flyer.

FOOD
The menu along with the chalkboard was jam packed with every cut imaginable from local UK and Scottish farmers as well as Australian and USDA prime. Every size and cut one could ask for was on order; Bavette, Rib-eye, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse and Chateaubriand with various off-menu special cuts and sizes available.

Starters for the table included Beef Carpaccio, Tiger Prawns, Pork Belly, Pork Ribs and Burrata, which were all flawless and a great reminder of the things to come.

Once again as is customary the temperature was medium rare across the board and they were flawless once again, with beautiful cuts which were cooked to perfection along with delicious sauces and tasty sides of chips, mashed potatoes and the moorish mac & cheese hitting the table all at once. It was at this point that we knew that Goodman's would be the bearer by which all other steak restaurants are measured against.

SERVICE
Service was remarkable with the waitress being on song throughout, never once missing a step in a fully booked restaurant. She was truly flawless and for the first time a perfect score has been given for service.

Her knowledge of the cuts was second to none and was always on hand to provide answers to the many questions the boyz had on this lengthy menu. Her knowledge of wines was also impressive and the fact that she recalled our food and drinks order without taking a note had the boyz wondering whether we could take her to all future Steakboyz as our personal waitress.

VERDICT
Overall London Steakboyz Volume 4 at Goodman was another great night out; Goodman’s quality steaks and exceptional service stealing the show. It is one to remember and a great way to see one of the London Chapter founding members depart back to New York to join the Boyz there.
