The word on the street was that you either will love or hate CUT by Wolfgang Puck. Some like the ambiance, some think its 80’s kitsch. Some like the way tasting, some think it’s overpriced. Our review toes the line.
The Good Not a stuffy scene. The wait staff was attentive. The appetizers were possibly the best we’ve had, both diverse and of high quality. Several members asked for additional orders. The wine pairing was also superb, and a great value. 16 bottles drunk shattered our record. And the dessert; the baked Alaska is Wolfgang’s specialty… it did not disappoint. The Bad An extended delay between appetizers and the main course. Some did not feel the value was achieved at $270/person. To this point, I say did anyone leave hungry? I walked away thinking I’d be back, but not with Steakboyz, rather with the SteakLadyz ™, as this was a softer place meant to impress. Even deducting for the way tasting, it was still on the pricey-side, but for the thrill of comparing 3 different way styles, I’d drop the coin. On the downside, it made our porterhouse seem average. And while it got props from the southside of the table, the ribeye never made it to the other end. That’s on me and the WP events team – I suspect they didn’t push to over feed knowing that they plied us with several rounds of free appetizers.
